GTI receives California safety award
Gordon Trucking Inc received third place at the California Safe Carrier of the Year awards on April 7 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Sacramento.
Safety Vice-President Scott Manthey and Modesto Terminal Director Jim Dingman were in attendance to accept the honor from the California Trucking Association.
The CTA’s safety awards program judges companies on specific safety performance including accident frequency, personnel and hiring systems, documented safety policies and procedures, driver-safety training, internal accident handling procedures and participation in the association’s safety activities.
“GTI is committed to reducing commercial motor vehicle accidents. More importantly, we are committed to reducing, if not eliminating personal injury due to motor vehicle accidents,” said Manthey. "We believe that nothing related to safety is proprietary and we will do what it takes to ensure that we are doing our part to make our highways safer".
CTA represents the owners of trucking companies throughout the State that advocate sound transportation policies to all levels of government, and work to maintain a safe, environmentally responsible and efficient California transportation goods movement system.
The CTA honor marks the third award GTI has received for its safety achievements in the past year.
